PM Keir Starmer joins Pete Wicks for special episode of Man Made
The Prime Minister has spoken with broadcaster Pete Wicks in a candid and deeply personal episode of the Man Made podcast out today.
In their conversation, the Prime Minister opened up about the loss of his brother Nick, who died on Boxing Day 2024, revealing how he was by Nick’s side when he received his diagnosis and how, for weeks, he made private visits to the hospital without public knowledge, determined to support him quietly and closely during his illness.
During the discussion, the Prime Minister also reflected on the influences that shaped him—speaking about the differences between himself and his father and how becoming a father reshaped his own understanding of masculinity, admitting that his childhood was not a joyful one and that, before meeting his wife, he had questioned whether marriage or parenthood had a place in his future.
Chatting about the problems young men face today he emphasised that self-worth is one of the most important foundations young men need, that strength through kindness is one of the best qualities for anyone to have and how he worries that we are becoming a country of toxic division.
